The Track

Nosework Introduction

Nosework Beginner

Prerequisite: Beginner Obedience

Cost: $90 + $10 cash/check equipment fee at the door

Minimum Age: 1 year

Duration: 6 weeks (1 class/week)

Nose Work – Introduction Prerequisite: Intermediate Obedience This six-week nose work class is an introduction into the exciting sport of scent work training. Scent work, or nose work, gives your dog the opportunity to refine a natural instinct...SNIFFING things. Whether for sport or for fun, most dogs LOVE this “job”! Nosework builds your dog’s confidence and strengthens your working relationship. Ideal for dog’s who needs a “job” at home. Your dog will learn to first find favorite treats… in boxes and other places. By playing different games, your dog will become acclimated to finding those treats and this will set the stage for a lifetime of games at home. There will be a $10.00 equipment charge per dog (payable in cash/check) to be paid the first night of class to cover equipment costs. Dogs will not required to be crated when not actively participating in an exercise unless they cannot be controlled otherwise. If your dog cannot do a DOWN quietly in between exercises, you may use our crates or bring your own. Dogs must be quiet and reasonably polite while crated or at their owner's side.

Scent work, or nose work, gives your dog the opportunity to refine a natural instinct...SNIFFING things. Whether for sport or for fun, most dogs LOVE this “job”! Nosework builds your dog’s confidence and strengthens your working relationship. Ideal for dog’s who needs a “job” at home. Your dog will be introduced to competition scents and challenging scent obstacles and courses. Some treat work will also be used so come prepared for anything! Dogs will not required to be crated when not actively participating in an exercise unless they cannot be controlled otherwise. If your dog cannot do a DOWN quietly in between exercises, you may use our crates or bring your own. Dogs must be quiet and reasonably polite while crated or at their owner's side.
