Therapy Dog / CGC Prep Workshop

This class prepares both you and your dog to understand what is required to be a therapy dog team. Training with your dog to become a certified therapy dog team is a wonderful way to bond and spend quality time together. 

Volunteering as a therapy dog team is much more than just having a good dog.  You as the handler are just as important in a successful team.  This class will build on the relationship and trust between the dog and handler and how to handle various situations they may face in medical facilities, nursing homes, schools, etc.  There are many opportunities in our communities to volunteer.  

Through this class you will practice the exercises that are in an evaluation, practice therapy scenarios, understand the process to become a therapy team and how to find volunteer opportunities. 

The 2nd part of class will focus on skills used in CGC testing. If you are interested in getting your dog CGC certified this is the class you will want to attend.
